Irony, isn't that?
that I can't listen to their lyrics
that they are famous for
But no more irony than
this thing doesn't even rhyme
The E train between Roosevelt and Queens Borough drives like crazy. Not like a train, but a rollercoaster. Everybody is rocking in the car. And then you hear Bob Dylan sings:
How does it feel
How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone So either way is no direction home.
And you can see that from people's faces in the car.
Actually that's one of my hobbies while riding subway. Watching people very closely. Most of them have eyes closed. Half of them are listening to iPod.
What are they listening? Do they have something else besides iPod? Are they directioning home?
And then I remember,
that I used to have a guitar
That I used to play
Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, and 崔健
And where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio
where my lonely eyes turn to now?
